UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES INC (UL)

Hawkins Cookers Limited manufactures various models of Pressure Cookers which are listed by Underwriters Laboratories Inc (UL) and carry the UL Mark. All the 3 factories located at Thane in Maharashtra, Hoshiarpur in Punjab and Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh manufacture UL approved cookers.

Underwriters Laboratories Inc (UL) is an independent Worldwide safety analysis, testing and certification Organisation. Headquartered in Chicago, UL was founded in 1894. The UL mark is widely accepted and recognised as a trusted symbol of safety. Their certification includes evaluation and factory surveillance of products by their field representatives worldwide.

The Bureau of Indian Standards empowered through a legislative Act of the Indian Parliament in 1986 operates a Product Certification Scheme. The certification allows the licensees to use the ISI Mark, which has become synonymous with Quality products.

The Product Certification Scheme of BIS aims at providing Third Party Guarantee of quality, safety and dependability of products to the ultimate customer.

CE MARKING

CE stands for Conformit� Europ�enne and indicates to consumer that the product has been subjected to strict tests and surveillance and meets essential requirements related to health and safety in the European Union. In short CE marking indicates conformance to very stringent requirements of quality, safety and health.

The following Hawkins and Futura pressure cookers have been approved for CE marking by M/s Bureau Veritas S.A. which is one of the leading Notified Bodies from Europe. These cookers meet the Harmonised Standards EN 12778: 2002 and EN 12983-1: 2000 as well as essential safety requirements of Pressure Equipment Directive ( 97 / 23 / EC ) of the European Union.
