Potatoes - Saraswat Style

Ingredients
1/3 cup (80 ml) vegetable oil
1½ tsp cumin seeds
1 kg potatoes (peeled and cut lengthwise into 4 cm X 1 cm X 1 cm )
1 tbsp salt
2 tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder

Recipe
1. Heat oil in Saucepan on medium heat for about 3 minutes. Add cumin seeds. Stir for a few seconds. Add potatoes. Stir. Add remaining ingredients. Mix.
2. Reduce heat to very low. Cover. Cook for 10 minutes. Stir. Cover. Cook till potatoes are tender (about 15 minutes). Serve hot with paratha.
